Brief Introduction.
I'm Chloe Maree, I am twenty-two years old. I have a twin sister who I adore and loving parents as well as two other siblings. I decided to start this website as I believe blogs such as Tumblr and Blogspot are too commercialised and promote mental illnesses such as Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa in such a way it seems to be glamorous.
This website does not and will not promote eating disorders as a lifestyle. Eating disorders are a serious illness. This website is to show the seriousness of these illnesses and to demonstrate the ups and downs, the good and bad and the ugliness of recovery. There is absolutely nothing glamorous about this disease.
I was diagnosed with anorexia at fifteen; it has been an ongoing battle since then. I have always had strange relationships with food. I believe I have never had a healthy relationship with it and that is what has lead me to where I am today. I have been diagnosed with both Anorexia and Bulimia. Then there is Social Phobia, Anxiety, Depression and Complex Post traumatic Stress Disorder.
I also have Von Willebrand’s disease, a genetic condition where you’re missing clotting factor. It is a form of hemophilia, my mother, my twin and I have all got it. Basically there is no cure, you just have to find the right medication to control bleeding.
I don’t live at home anymore, I had to move to continue studying. I am studying full time at the University of Wollongong I am majoring in psychology. I believe that after what I have gone through physically and mentally that I could make a difference. I am a qualified youth worker but currently work as a childcare worker for an out of school hours care facility.
